A fine example of a Mohajaran Sarouk, a superior contemporary of the American Sarouk. Most Sarouks imported to the United States in the early twentieth century were painted red to appeal to the tastes of that time. Noor Oriental Rugs, Inc. has a rare collection of untainted antique Sarouks, including this one. Notice the deep pink field and the balanced spacing of floral motifs. This rug also features a pair of stylized peacocks.
