"See what other
people say about Noor!"
Jan 2012
Dear Ammo Nooraee,
The carpet is so beautiful. All the dervishes here
who saw it were amazed by
it's beauty.
Mahnaz said "Khayli kashange!"
Ali said "what a bargain!"
Vera exclaimed "how can they make it so perfect and
beautiful?" and "the
carpet brings warmth to the house"
For me, every time I see it, it displays its beauty
in a different way. It
seems to become more beautiful every day. That's the
sign of perfection.
So thank you very much. I hope this carpet will stay
with me for life and
beyond.
Regards,
Zaid

I took my prayer rug with frayed fringes and
edges to Mohammad
Nooraee at Noor Oriental Rugs and he and his
team made it perfect again. The kilim fringe is
perfectly reconstructed and it is impossible to
tell where the repairs were made. Thanks
Mohammad!

"I brought a couple of
old and valuable rugs to Noor Oriental Rugs to have
them repaired from moth damage and I was really
impressed about the quality of work that was done on
the rugs. Neither the damages nor the repair
are visible and the rugs look like new. I really
recommend Noor Oriental Rugs to anyone."

You

WGBH Auction Noor Auction Certificate
I am very pleased with the beautiful rug I recently bought.
The rug brings everything in my living room together and is
a highlight of the the room. Your delivery was prompt and
the man who did the delivery was very helpful.
Also, as a long-term member and supporter of WGBH, it was a
special treat to be able to use the certificate from Noor
that I successfully bid on in the WGBH auction!!
Thank you,

“Customer
Satisfaction Beyond Expectation”
I grew up
surrounded by Persian rugs and have appreciated the beauty
and elegance of Persian rugs ever since. Last year I, with
my partner's help, was finally able to purchase my own
Persian rug- an exquisite solid-silk Iranian rug. Ever since
our purchase, it has indeed been a learning process! After
only one week our cat threw-up all over our rug. This was
the first time I had to research cleaning techniques online.
I did my best. Then our cat threw-up on our rug again! On
top of these accidents, the New England weather and mess
took its toll on our beautiful rug eating through a portion
of the silk fringe. (We placed our rug in the entry way of
our home.) I panicked and knew I needed the hand of an
expert. And then I found Mohammad Nooraee.
Mohammad
Nooraee has been a god-send. I have spoken at length with
Mr. Nooraee and have come to have enormous respect for his
talent. He started learning the art of rug restoration and
even weaving a silk rug of his own since he was a boy in
Iran! He really cares about each and every rug as a piece of
art and heritage, and he cares about his clients. Mr.
Nooraee immediately went to work cleaning and repairing our
rug. He expertly replaced the older fringe discovering a
major flaw in the original workmanship. He cleaned and
inspected our rug himself. And most importantly for me, he
was available to answer all my questions and concerns when I
called and emailed. My partner and I have our rug back
looking better than before! It literally glistens in the
sunlight.
I have
heard several "horror" stories of clients' rugs being ruined
by unskilled hands. I feel very fortunate to have found Mr.
Nooraee on my first try. I cannot recommend him high
enough.

January-2010
I
want to thank Mohammed
Noorae at Noor Oriental Rugs for the beautiful
rug I recently purchased. I have never
owned a real oriental rug before.
I bought a gift certificate through the
WGBH auction that Noor Oriental Rugs had
generously donated to the PBS Station.
The expiration date was for December 1st
of last year. I went over to the store
and met with Mohammed at the beginning
of December. I was overwhelmed
at the number of choices and the
different criteria that I needed to
consider when choosing a rug. Mohammed
patiently worked with me and was very
generous to let me wait until after the
holidays to choose a rug. When I went in
with the colors, rug style, and the
dimensions of the kind of rug that I
would need, he spent a lot of time with
me and was very intuitive to my needs.
Going through the myriad of choices, he
picked out a few rugs out of the large
stack of beautiful rugs, giving his
recommendations. One of the rugs that he
thought would be the best choice and one
I liked, is the one I finally chose – it
is beautiful and looks wonderful in my
room! It fits perfectly in size
and colors and quality. Every time I
walk in the room, I love it!
The pictures do not
really do the rug justice. It is perfect
for the room. I apologize for my camera!
Thank you!-Priscilla Smith

Dear Mohammad,
I would like to
express my gratitude for the wonderful
experience I had over the summer with
Mohammad Nooraee of Noor Oriental Rugs.
While getting ready to move, I
discovered that my two rugs were filled
with moths and moth damage. One of the
two rugs was a Persian rug, something I
inherited from my mother who has
recently passed away--thus something
very important to me. I was filled with
sadness when I contacted Noor's Oriental
rugs (found on the internet), convinced
that I would need to throw them both
away. I spoke with Mohammad, who
immediately offered to drive over to my
house and assess the condition of my
rugs. Within two hours, Mohammad had
arrived, carried my rugs down to the
sidewalk, unrolled and diagnosed them.
Within seconds, he could name the
country, village, age, weave and dye of
the rugs. I was amazed! He carefully
explained the process of cleaning the
rugs, preventing the moths from
returning (including an in depth
discussion about the biology of moths!),
and how he and his team carefully
restore rugs. Several weeks later, he
invited me to the shop to present the
cleaned rugs and discuss restoration.
The rugs had never looked so beautiful!
We spent an hour drinking tea--he showed
me each area of moth damage, what will
be needed to restore, and he presented
me with a very fair price and flexible
plan. He also showed me some of his
masterpieces--works in progress.
Mohammad is a true artist and a kind
person. I have recommended him to my
friends and family, both near and far.
Sincerely,

Serendipity played
a big role in my finding Mohammad
Nooraee when I had all but abandoned
hope of ever being able to enjoy my
dull-gold Bokhara again. Over the course
of the twenty-five years since I had
bought it while at MIT, it had endured
the vicissitudes of multiple moves, a
stint in pawn, improper storage
conditions, and a long stay under the
writing table of a friend who smoked
heavily, and it was more grey than gold
and very dusty and grimy and probably a
haven for moths by the time I was
finally able to reclaim it. In that
condition, I could not use it and almost
despaired of it, a work
of art seemingly destroyed by
circumstances beyond my control. During
a chance walk along Concord Avenue late
last summer, I noticed Mr. Nooraee’s
gallery and made a note of its name and
address, contacted him and was welcomed
to the showroom , and soon realized that
a solution for the problem rug had
presented itself: the knowledge, expert
service and highest standard of
workmanship and care which have restored
my old friend the Bokhara so it looks
better than I had ever seen it, even in
our early days together.
It transpired that
I had had earlier indirect contact with
Mr. Nooraee without realizing it. I
actually own one of his beautiful rugs,
purchased several years ago from an
interior design shop where he had
consigned it. When I looked carefully,
the original Noor tag was still attached
to the corner!
It is clear that I
would not hesitate to recommend Mr.
Nooraee’s company to anyone seeking and
appreciating highest quality. |

My purchasing
experience with Mr. Nooraee is the most
pleasant one I can recall. My husband
and I had spent hours at larger box
stores completely overwhelmed by the
choices at hand, never given the
opportunity to discuss our thoughts at
length with a knowledgeable salesman.
Mr. Nooraee gave us full audience, asked
us a few simple questions, and was able
to select a rug we both loved in
minutes. His ability to determine our
style, even without our ability to
articulate it very well, was uncanny. We
enjoyed hot tea while discussing the
purchase in a relaxed, no-pressure
atmosphere. Mr. Nooraee's warm demeaner,
depth of knowledge and sincere interest
in finding us the right rug made the
process surprisingly enjoyable. We would
happily purchase from him in the future.

April 2009
I was really struck by how my rugs
looked after they were cleaned by Noor—although
they were very old rugs, they looked
brand new. Thanks to my five-year-old
son, the rugs had some nasty
stains—food, drink and magic marker
stains. The rugs were not only cleaned,
but also moth-proofed and deodorized. I
especially loved how brightly the pink
and blue hues stood out in my antique
Persian rug and how soft the wool felt.
Apparently one of the rugs, a crème
colored rug made of wool and silk,
presented a lot of challenges and
required a special cleaning technique
that took a whole month of labor—the
team would inspect the rug every day to
make sure that it was not handled too
much or too little. It was definitely
worth the investment! Last but not
least, I enjoyed the friendly
conversations with Mohammed and hot cups
of Persian tea.!
